Seniors

The Seniors, very popular and thriving Seniors section, presently has a membership in excess of seventy members, all of whom come from a wide cross section of society. The one thing that bonds us all is that we all enjoy the exercise, competition, fun, craic and camaraderie that our section is renowned for across the County and beyond. Once anyone has paid their full club membership they only pay a small additional seniors membership to join in the activities and competitions. We welcome new members all year round and anyone wishing to join can contact the club secretary for contact details.

The section has a well established committee that organises our annual diary that includes a number of seasonal internal competitions using different formats, inter-club matches against clubs all over West Wales, at least three subsidised away day trips per season and some annual festive fun competitions again using different formats to create further challenge and enjoyment for the members. The section enjoys a monthly shotgun and meal day, all of which are generally very well attended and provide a forum for information gathering and sharing, and a chance to socialise. The section also combines with the Ladies to play a number of mixed friendly foursomes competitions across the year.  We also encourage and organise opportunities for members to play in the annual South Wales Senior Classic pairs (Claret Jug) and team competitions and an annual trip to participate in the Pontardawe Seniors Open, whilst we also hold our own annual Seniors Open competition in June.

Every year we also hold a number of social events and get involved in whole club and section Charity fundraising events, with funds raised generally being donated to local charities. Our annual AGM is held each November, when a raft of issues are aired and a new Captain and Vice are voted in.,
